We're going public!
It may not generate the same public fanfare that Google's IPO did (wow, I'm such a geek), but the Pavel household is all a buzz. And I hope you can feel some of the excitment! We'll now begin freely telling whomever we like - friends at work, church, casual aquiantances, the poor unsuspecting waiters and waitresses... that's just the beginning!
We had another doctor appointment today, and had an absolutely amazing time. You may have noticed the additional ultrasounds on the right - we couldn't get enough. I wanted to tell 'em, "Don't worry, we'll lock up for the night when we're ready to go. Show me how to work this thing?"
I really wish that they had a movie capture instead of the still frames; it really doesn't do it justice. We saw a very, very active child - shadow boxing, swimming, turning (it gave a stare right at the camera, either posing or challenging us for invading his *** privacy), waving appendages wildly... so much so, that I looked at Leah in awe and said, "Really? You can't FEEL that?" It's actually good she can't, of course... that CAN'T feel good. The pictures were so large and clear that their true size - right around 4 1/4 cm - eluded me. Absolutely amazing. And yet I still find it surreal. You could clearly make out eyes, nose, mouth, arms, legs... everything! Besides the activity, I was amazed at how perfectly formed this person is, and the change from our last ultrasound. I just realized how trite that sounds - but I guess it's one of those things that you really can't FULLY understand until it happens to you!
You may have also noticed that our "How pregnant are we?" counter has jumped by about a week. We were both feeling the parental pride when the doctor ascribed an advanced development for our child... "Attaboy! Way to grow!" As it turns out, we had some confusion on dating and counting... so, apparently, we are one week FURTHER along than we had supposed. I'm still the proud papa.
*** Please note: Until we know, please see all male references as the un-American gender neutral I have trouble expressing. :-)

Oh, wow! I actually got the chills reading this! I am soooo excited for you! Thanks for the go-ahead to tell. I've been busting at the seams! Of course we all knew you would have an advanced baby :), but now I'm excited that maybe he'll (using gender neutral as well) get here that much more sooner, right? Has the due date changed? I'm amazed at how clear those ultrasounds are. Go GE!

Actually, yes, the due date has changed! August 2nd is what we're looking at now. When we reach some milestone in the future - still unclear as to what it'll be - we'll get a countDOWN counter instead.
I'm hoping part of the go-ahead is a link from esselle... that way the whole family will be sure to find the site!

Hi Josh and Leah! Congrats- I'm so excited for you!!!! And thank Jeanine for linking the site, I had heard you were posting one and was wondering how I was supposed to find out about it :) None of the movies will play for me though, says that the req compressor cannot be found? I have no idea what that means, but I'm sure you do..anything I can do so that I can see this MadGab game I've heard so much about??

Hmmm... "Cannot find the required compressor"... apparently, I'm going to force everybody who checks this site to upgrade to QuickTime v. 7 (http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/win.html). Or so the people here (http://www.click-now.net/forums/lofiversion/index.php/t1793.html) seem to think...
I'll actually post a word about that on the main site. Thanks for catching it! And I'm so glad you found the site... I was hoping the Esselle post would work to spread the word to our whole family!

Congratulations! My birthday is August 2 so I think that is a fine time to be expecting Baby Pavel. I'm sad I didn't get to hear the announcement myself at church but I was in Hendersonville for the weekend. I'll see you on Sunday but again, CONGRATS!

ja mei, des is jo da Wahnsinn ( just some Bavarian exclamations of excitement !!! ) Yes, we're so excited. Too bad we couldn't be there for the public announcement, but we had the honour the hear the good news as one of the first ones after the closest family. It was probably safe telling us since we're so far away. Looking forward to meet the Pavel baby in person. ( another good reason to come back )
