When it showers, it pours.

Right before we left, Josh's sister, mom and my mom all collaborated to do a shower in GA for us. Jeanine took the lead on this one and did a FABULOUS job. I had sooooo much fun!! The games were hysterical, the food was excellent, and the generosity of our family and friends was overwhelming. Josh and I can't stop talking about how grateful we are for all these amazing people in our lives, and that our daughter is getting the blessing of you all, even before she meets anyone.

We had exactly one day to get back from GA, unpack, repack and get on planes to Paris, so I haven't gotten to the thank you's yet...but they're in progress. I can't wait to get back home and put everything together. We did have to go ahead and get the crib set in the crib (at about 1am the next morning) to see it before we left. And I still love it:)

I know, I know

We're sloooooooow at posting. It isn't because of a lack of enthusiasm, trust me on that!

Baby doc appointment yesterday. This was a very important one - the go/no go for our upcoming trip to France. If our doctor had even the slightest qualm about us going, we'd have to reconsider, but he has been completely supportive - he has even assisted us so that we don't make the same mistake he did and accidentally order horse meat.

He probably thinks I'm a loon, though... I passed along something I saw online about baby's crying in the womb at 28 weeks (link). I don't know, but I thought it was at least intriguing.

And darn it, we have nothing to show for it, but we did have another ultrasound. Leah and I have been somewhat joking that she better really be a girl, because her closet is full of pink dresses and the like. Confirmation. And it was actually the coolest one yet. With just the right angle at just the right time, we got to see her face. Really. She's beautiful. The detail was good enough that we could even watch her open and close her eyes a few times. Our doctor went to go print out some of the pictures, but the machine just beeped at him "out of paper". Uf. I know, I know, we've been spoiled with this anyway up until now...

We also had another shower - this from the incredible couple of Daniel and Jill back in Georgia. I've known Daniel since, geez, 6th grade. Lisa (Leah's maid of honor) came through with the UGA cheerleading outfit! She was thoughtful enough to synchronize Karis' age with the start of football season, and get the size accordingly. Again, we were overwhelmed by everyone's love and generosity. I'm excited that Karis will get to grow up knowing so many of our friends and family.
