She Slept Through The Night!!!!

WOOOOOHOOOOOO! (Please imagine the Hallelujah Chorus playing in the background as you read this.) We have highly anticipated this day for 8 weeks now. We put her to bed last night at 11:15pm right after her last feeding, she fell asleep instantly, and then we didn't hear from her again until 6am! I didn't have that scary "oh my gosh, why haven't I heard from her, is she okay?" moment because she still woke up before us. But when I looked at the clock and realized that I hadn't gotten up to feed her since the night before, I was shocked.

Josh and I are so happy we can't stand it. Now, we are not so foolish as to think this wonderful event will happen two nights in a row, or even twice in the same week, but we now have hope of long missed consecutive hours of sleep. There is now light at the end of the tunnel, and possibly sleep at the end of the day.

Good morning, moon.

I can hardly believe we ever actually purposefully wake her up, but it does happen. And as we've said before, it can take her a good while to "stretch it out".

10 things you didn't know about Karis (maybe)

  1. In the right light, at just the right angle, her hair seems to have a slight reddish tint.
  2. She loves to have her face and forehead stroked.
  3. If she is hungry, she will be down right insulted if you try to give her a pacifier.
  4. Her pre-cry expression is deceptively smile-like.
  5. She can't really wake up without at least 5 solid minutes of stretching.
  6. She's quite the fashionista - if she doesn't like an outfit, she'll spit up on it to make you change it. She's been known to go through 4 outfits in less than 10 minutes, until she finally finds one she likes.
  7. No place is as comfortable to sleep as mom's arm or dad's shoulder.
  8. She has already outgrown 3 outfits we have.
  9. She may be quite the sleep talker - she already shows more vocal variety in her sleep than her awake time.
  10. She's a socialite - she is more comfortable and peaceful with new people and loud environments.
