Over the river and through the woods...

Sorry it's been so long since we've posted... but we've gone to Georgia for the holidays (yes, Karis made it to the Varsity. If you don't know what kind of a milestone that is... well, words can't quite put it to justice.)

Merry Christmas to all, and to all... chili dogs!

The real reason for the win on Saturday...

...is that the addition of a new cheerleader tipped the scales! Seriously, there seems to be a good bit of debate on "the cutest ever." The bath pictures, the Stanford onsie, the waking up video, the rolling video...

Well, lucky for you, we have a veritable cute factory over here, churning out cute around the clock (except for fussy times. We don't like to talk about fussy times.). So, to further the debate, here is another submission. Yes, I realize I'm asking some of you to look past the rivalry one more time, but I think "cute" is common ground we can all unite upon.

And while this may just necessitate a single picture, I think 5 is about right. Stay tuned for the next round in the "cutest ever" debate - not to give too much away, but the baby Big Bird that Chris Ross gave Karis is without a doubt her favorite thing ever now. You're guaranteed a laugh when it comes out.

We miss you Darren and Ling!

Gooooo Stanford! Gooooo Ling! Get that law degree! Thankfully, I can with a good conscious have Karis wear this and not feel like I am being unfaithful to UGA football.

If you want to catch up with them yourselves... I know you can get some recent-ish info here!

Big Bird and Fuzzy Dog are privy to a lot of Karis' secrets...

One of the things I loved watching her during this episode of "tummy time" was that she was really TALKING to them. Look at how her face changes... I wish I knew what she was trying to say through all of this!

Bath time

Seriously - how cute is she?

1 month? Already?

Just the good stuff, eh? Regardless of the blow to my ego, I realize that people aren't here to read my sometimes-witty commentary. A picture is worth 1,000 words, so here is a 38,000 word essay on Karis' first month.

Gallery - The First Month

As for milestones - I think that we have heard Karis' voice. There aren't many noises that aren't bodily functions or crying, but thankfully, they are increasing. If this is any indication, she has a very beautiful melodic voice (yes, I am biased).

Last night, I was having some "active time" with Karis... I went through a round of faces, and there was NOTHING that filled me with more pride and excitment when Karis made a kiss back at me. I gotta try and get a video of it - she pursed her lips, and even made a slight smacking sound back. Leah and I both gushed out of excitment. Hard work, though - only about 3 or 4 times and she was pooped.

Daddy/Daughter School Spirit

If you're one of the loyal readers who's allegiance aligns with - *ahem* - that other school, you may have to skip over this post. She has a cheerleading outfit as well, and rest assured we'll see that during football season.

Bonus inclusions: notice the slightly discolored spot on daddy's left shoulder; not sure if I forgot a burp cloth or if it just soaked through, but that is a pretty normal state of affairs around here now. You can also witness the quick change in Karis - content in one to crying in the next. 0 to 60 in one breath - these pictures were taken not even a minute apart. And where'd the hat go? Darn those things... those and socks are impossible to keep on. And don't get me started on mittens.

Shhh.... she doesn't know I'm posting this...

My beautiful, glowing bride at 17 weeks pregnant (click to see the full picture). We were at a wedding for some friends (congrats again, Mike and Galina! I hope you are enjoying Key West!) this weekend, and I managed to snap a shot. We've been getting some requests for "tummy shots" or something else that shows the progress for some time, and I'll have to sneak the candids in every chance I get...

In other news, the first POTENTIAL kick occured at around 4:00 AM, February 22nd. I was awakened by an excited, "Josh! Josh!" We're still unsure about it... there have been no follow up events, and we're both rather new at this. :-)

And I know we teased everyone with this last time, but our appointment with the Ultrasound tech "specialist" is tomorrow AM... so we should get the much-awaited for news. She has, apparently, a 100% success record. The technology is apparently there so there is no guesswork any longer, as long as baby cooperates.

We'll keep you posted!
